Dr. Sean Gao specializes in surgery of the shoulder, hip, and knees. In additional to his orthopedic surgery residency, he completed a year of training at the San Diego Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine Fellowship. During fellowship he helped take care of D1 college athletes at San Diego State University along with minor league sports teams including the San Diego Gulls Hockey and San Diego Legion Rugby.Dr. Gao is passionate about helping his patients achieve their goals of function from pickleball to contact sports. He believes in utilizing all treatment modalities fully from non-surgical injections, minimally invasive arthroscopy surgery, to open surgery and joint replacements.Dr. Gao is a native of Ellicott City, Maryland. He graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a B.S and M.S in molecular biology. He completed medical school at Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Indianapolis, Indiana. He completed orthopedic surgery residency at Grandview Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio.
